The Community Safety Council of Canada (CSCC) is proud to recognize the adoption of Bubble Zone protections in Calgary, Alberta following a collaborative effort involving municipal policymakers, community leaders, faith-based organizations, and local stakeholders committed to strengthening public safety and protecting vulnerable community infrastructure.
This achievement reflects the culmination of extensive advocacy, education, consultation, and engagement being conducted cross nationally. The CSCC extends our sincere appreciation to Calgary’s Council and municipal leadership for their thoughtful consideration, responsible stewardship, and commitment to implementing balanced protections that safeguard access to places of worship, schools, community centres, and other vulnerable institutions while respecting the rights and freedoms of all citizens.
The CSCC also thanks the many community members, faith leaders, and local stakeholders whose dedication and support helped bring this initiative to fruition. Their collective efforts have established an important precedent that enhances safety, promotes community confidence, and helps ensure that all faith-based and community organizations can enjoy their freedom of religion free from intimidation, harassment, and disruption.
